Client: Grayson High School Golf Boosters Club
Technologies: WordPress, MailChimp, Stripe Checkout, Zapier, Web Hosting, Domain Hosting
I volunteered my time to build the Grayson High School Golf team a new website. Their old website, graysongolf.com, wasn’t flexible enough and didn’t have the features they wanted. Since the graysongolf.com domain name is owned by the website service provider, we decided to start over with a new domain name along with the new website. The new site can manage coaches, players, matches, tournaments, and scores with very little effort. We’ve also implemented online fundraiser and sponsorship signups and donations using Stripe’s Checkout API. We wanted to automatically collect everyone’s names, phone numbers, business names, websites, email addresses, mailing addresses, etc, but Stripe, by default, only requires a few of these fields during the checkout process. We decided to use the Checkout API’s metadata properties to collect the extra information we needed. Then, using Zapier, we connected Stripe to the Golf Boosters’ new MailChimp account and pushed the Stripe charge field values to MailChimp list fields.
